Almost four weeks of Advent market in Höxter's historic city center — Live music on Fridays, Advent Saturdays with extended shopping hours
The historic city center of Höxter provides the ideal backdrop for a classic North German Christmas market: Half-timbered houses, the market square with the town hall, cobblestone alleys, and its proximity to the famous Corvey Abbey (UNESCO World Heritage) make the Höxter Christmas Magic an Advent experience with character. The Werbegemeinschaft Höxter e.V. organizes the market annually together with the city — from late November until Christmas Eve.
The market is open Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Fridays until 8:00 PM with live music, Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On the Advent Saturdays with extended shopping hours, the city center shops invite you to browse.
Live music is performed on the market square stage on Fridays. St. Nicholas Day (December 6) brings a visit from St. Nicholas and activities for children. Throughout the Advent season, there are regular concerts by the Höxter Music Association and the municipal music school, as well as storytelling sessions and craft activities for the little ones.
The city of Höxter is located in the Höxter district in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, directly on the Weser River, at the edge of the Weserbergland region. The Hanseatic city, with its medieval old town and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site of Corvey Abbey, is one of Westphalia's most beautiful destinations. Alongside the Street Food Festival and the Corvey Garden Festival, the Christmas Magic is one of the most important events in the city's annual calendar.
Almost four weeks of Advent in the Hanseatic city: lovingly staged wooden huts, mulled wine, cookies, bratwurst, handmade gifts from the region. Live music on Fridays on the market square stage, visit from St. Nicholas on December 6, concerts by the Höxter Music Association and the municipal music school throughout the Advent season.
Mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, handicrafts, regional wooden toys, candles, honey, and gift ideas from the Weserbergland region.
