Open Air at the Outdoor Pool — An Unusual Concept

A festival in an outdoor pool? In Dörentrup, in the Lippe district, this is exactly the idea that was a "complete success" as a premiere event in 2025 and is now entering its second round in 2026. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Dörentrup outdoor pool will transform into HilleBeatz Open Air from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM — one of the most unusual electro festivals in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Organizer TP Gastro GmbH is building on the enthusiasm from the first edition (around 2,000 visitors) and expanding the concept for 2026.

Line-up 2026 — Salvatore Mancuso, Toby Romeo & Neptunica

Ten DJs are on the posters for the 2026 edition. The organizers have secured Salvatore Mancuso, one of the best-known Italian DJs in the house and tech-house scene, as well as Toby Romeo, with chart placements in several European countries, and Neptunica as headliners. The line-up is complemented by regional acts from OWL and the Ruhr area — the exact performance order will be published on the festival website hillebeatz.de.

Pool, Dance Floor, Sundowner

The festival grounds make optimal use of the outdoor pool's architecture: the sunbathing lawn becomes the dance floor, the edge of the pool becomes the stage viewing area, and the former ticket booth becomes the bar. Between sets, festival-goers can use the outdoor pool as a pool lounge — a combination of festival and summer enjoyment that sets HilleBeatz apart from similar events in the region. Sundowners by the pool with a cocktail, followed by a dance party under the Lippe night sky.

Premiere Success 2025

The first edition of HilleBeatz Open Air took place on August 9, 2025, and according to reports in the Lippische Landeszeitung ("Hillebeatz Festival in Dörentrup — A Complete Success"), it was a resounding success. Around 2,000 visitors attended — a remarkable number for a first festival in a town of about 8,000 inhabitants. The second edition in 2026 will build on this experience.

Dörentrup in the Lippe District

Dörentrup is a municipality in the Lippe district of Ostwestfalen-Lippe with around 8,000 inhabitants. It is located in the north of the district on the Werre river, nestled in the quiet hilly landscape of Lipperland. The Dörentrup outdoor pool, a classic summer swimming area with a 50-meter pool and a large sunbathing lawn, is becoming an annual event in the region's festival summer — an example of how small communities can gain supra-regional attention with creative concepts.
