The colourful neighbourhood festival in Tamra-Hemelingen-Park
HEVIE stands for Hemelingen Diversity — and that's exactly what the neighbourhood festival in Bremen's east is all about. For over ten years, Tamra-Hemelingen-Park has transformed once a year into a vibrant meeting point for the entire neighbourhood. The eleventh edition will take place on September 5th and 6th, 2026 — with free admission and a programme that brings together markets, sports, culture, and community.
Saturday afternoon kicks off with an organic market full of regional products and sustainability topics, as well as the HEFLOH flea market for private sellers — now with free stall space for children under 14. It gets sporty with the HEVIE-CUP featuring boules, beach volleyball, and small-sided football, as well as the HEVIE-RACE, a duo competition for ages eight and up, pitting bicycles against go-karts on obstacle courses. From 6:30 PM, a DJ will play, and the dance floor will fill up. Sunday is dedicated to workshops, art classes, and interactive presentations, along with music and dance on the WESER-KURIER stage.
HEVIE values environmental awareness: reusable systems and payment with wooden tokens reduce plastic waste on the festival grounds. This makes sustainability not just a topic of the organic market, but a lived practice of the entire festival — a concept that fits well with the down-to-earth, community-oriented character of Hemelingen Diversity.
The venue is Tamra-Hemelingen-Park in the Hemelingen district, a diverse neighbourhood in Bremen's east. The festival sees itself as a reflection of this diversity, bringing together clubs, neighbours, and families from all over the district — Hanseatic neighbourhood culture under the open sky.
