Hersbruck Christmas Market — Pure Franconian Advent

Hersbruck — the small Franconian town on the edge of the Nuremberg region and at the same time the gateway to the Hersbruck Switzerland — is one of those places whose old townscape is perfect for Christmas markets. Half-timbered houses, arched gateways, the Gothic town hall, and the Shepherd Museum form the backdrop. Since 1994, this historic townscape has been transformed into an Advent landscape annually from the end of November until just before Christmas.

Hersbruck is a medium-sized town with around 12,000 inhabitants in the Nuremberg Land district, Bavaria. It is reachable by S-Bahn line S 1 from Nuremberg in 30 minutes and is therefore part of the metropolitan region's commuter belt. The traditional opening is the first Sunday of Advent with Sunday shopping from 1 PM to 6 PM — a proven combination of the Advent market and downtown retail.
