Four evenings of concerts in the castle courtyard with Paul Young, ClockClock, Chako Habekost, and Café del Mundo
The Da Capo Open Air Festival is one of the most renowned open-air concert formats in Rheinhessen. The venue is the Alzey castle courtyard, which offers an almost unique concert atmosphere with its manageable capacity of around 1,600 seats, excellent acoustics, and historic architecture.
The 2026 program focuses on diversity: comedy, electropop, an international pop star, and a guitar duo. This ensures the festival caters not only to one target group but offers four distinct concert evenings with different characters.
Palatinate comedian Chako Habekost opens the festival week with his very own mix of Palatinate dialect, observations from everyday life, and political-social commentary. Habekost is an institution in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The German electropop duo ClockClock brings fresh pop sounds to the castle with hits like “Sad” and “Imagination.” The concert particularly appeals to a younger audience.
The absolute highlight: Paul Young, British pop singer and world star of the 1980s (“Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)”, “Every Time You Go Away”), performs only once in Germany in 2026 – and that's in Alzey. This coup is a topic of discussion even beyond the region and makes the Da Capo Festival 2026 an absolute must-attend event.
The German guitar duo Café del Mundo concludes the festival with a virtuosic concert. With flamenco guitar technique, jazz influences, and world music, Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian provide the perfect contrasting program to the preceding evenings.
Tickets are available via Reservix and at the Schmitt & Hahn bookstore in Alzey. Due to the limited capacity, purchasing tickets early is strongly advised, especially for the Paul Young evening.
