Rustic harvest festival to mark the end of the grape harvest in the Klosterhof
Autumn is the most important and intense time of year for a winery. When the grapes have been harvested, brought in, and processed in the cellars, the time for reflection, looking back, and celebrating begins. The HerbstLaub festival at Weingut Klosterhof Lösch provides a festive setting for this moment.
The Weingut Klosterhof Lösch, located at Kirschgartenstraße 4–6 in Worms-Abenheim, is a historically developed courtyard complex that combines viticulture and herb garden culture with monastic origins. In autumn, the Klosterhof displays its special splendor — the vine leaves turn color, pumpkins and dried fruits adorn the courtyard, and the atmosphere shifts from a summer festival to a rustic harvest celebration.
The focus is on the wine and food offerings of autumn. 'Federweißer' and young wine are served, along with classic Rhenish autumn specialties: onion cake, tarte flambée, 'Schwemklobbe' (a type of meatball), hearty potato dough, savory pan dishes, and sweet delicacies made from seasonal fruits.
HerbstLaub is deliberately designed as a rustic festival — no stage shows, but tables in the courtyard, wooden benches, warm blankets for the cool evenings, and conversations between vintners, regular guests, and day visitors. An event that highlights the slower side of wine and festival culture, offering a counterpoint to the louder summer festivals.
The 2026 HerbstLaub festival is understood as the season's closing event for the Klosterhof — both in the vineyard and in the herb and monastery garden. A worthwhile day trip for wine and nature lovers, bundling the best of Worms' autumn in a relaxed atmosphere.
The visit can be well combined with a walk through the Abenheim vineyards.
