Large autumn market with Sunday shopping in the historic town centre of Gerolzhofen
In 2026, the Herbstfest Gerolzhofen will celebrate its 65th edition – one of the oldest autumn markets in Lower Franconia. The venue is the historic town centre of Gerolzhofen in the Schweinfurt district (Bavaria). On the festival day, the historic centre is completely car-free, with all main streets and squares becoming the market area. Organised by the town of Gerolzhofen together with the Gerolzhofen Aktiv business and town association.
The Large Autumn Market opens at 10 am: traders from all over Lower Franconia and Swabia offer everyday goods, handicrafts, autumn plants, sweets, and more. Simultaneously, a flea market with collector's items takes place. From 12 pm, the shops in the town centre open for Sunday trading – an important economic event for local retailers. Accompanying events include a book bazaar by the Rotary Club with its own café, dance performances by local groups in the Bürgerspital, and a car show by Gerolzhofen dealers.
