Village Tradition between Elbe and Havel

Neuermark-Lübars is hidden away in the eastern Altmark, a district of the Klietz municipality in the Stendal district. Visitors will find one of those genuine local festivals, not designed for tourists, which are still common in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The meeting point is the Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Neuermark-Lübars (village community center), around which a festival area with benches, a small stage, a bratwurst stand, and draft beer is set up for one day.

The program is classic: a festival parade or opening toast in the morning, followed by coffee, cake, and games for children in the afternoon, and dancing with a live band or DJ in the evening. For hikers and cyclists on the routes along the Elbe and Havel rivers, Neuermark-Lübars is a good stopover point — the region between Tangermünde, Havelberg, and Klietz thrives on exactly these kinds of festivals.
