Festival during the Heather Bloom
The Heideblütenfest in Sandhof is closely linked to the nature of the region: it takes place during the heather bloom, when the heather areas around the village shine in vibrant violet. Traditionally, the festival is held on the last weekend of August and attracts visitors to the scenically attractive Wooster Heide.
The Heather Queen
The Heather Queen is the central figure of the festival. On Saturday evening, she is ceremoniously crowned in the festival tent and will represent the Wooster Heide local heritage association and the region for the coming year. The crowning is the emotional highlight of the weekend and makes the young dignitary the face of the festival.
Program and Crafts
The Heideblütenfest offers a varied program: a stage program with music, a craft market with regional handicrafts, and gastronomic offerings with regional cuisine. A charity raffle, often for the benefit of the forestry office, is also part of it. The festival is a cross-generational Volksfest (folk festival) with a family atmosphere.
