Queer culture meets street art — Pride event on the Fischmarkt as part of the Hamburg Port Anniversary
When the Hamburg Port Anniversary sets the harbor front in motion on the first weekend in May, Harbour Pride has its own stage: the Fischmarkt directly on Große Elbstraße. On approximately 4,000 m² of space, a queer open-air day is created, deliberately bridging the gap between the LGBTQIA+ community and the maritime major event of the Hamburg Port Anniversary — Pride meets harbor world, drag meets harbor basin.
On the 8 × 6 m main stage, drag shows, live acts, and community DJs alternate. The Harbour Pride Race provides a sporty midday program, and the Family Finale in the afternoon creates a space for queer families. Artistic performances and street art installations on-site deepen the motto "Queer culture meets street art."
Harbour Pride 2026 is the stage for the CSD 2026 campaign by Hamburg Pride e.V. under the motto "Solidarisch queer. Einstehen – für eine Zukunft ohne Angst." (Solidarity queer. Stand up – for a future without fear.). This makes the event part of the larger Hamburg Pride movement — and at the same time, it is embedded in the 837th Hamburg Port Anniversary with ship parades and maritime program.
The Fischmarkt is located in the Altona district, Altona-Altstadt neighborhood, directly on the Elbe. For decades, it has been a Sunday morning meeting point for Hamburg residents — Harbour Pride uses it for the Pride event, combining harbor tradition with contemporary queer culture.
