Jazz at the Harztheater

The Halberstädter Jazznacht has been a fixture in the event calendar of Halberstadt and the Harz district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt since 2000. The Musik-Forum Halberstadt e.V. organizes the festival, which takes place every spring at the Harztheater Halberstadt — the region's largest venue with a long tradition of opera and drama.

The format is clear: one evening, two top-class bands, the Grand Hall of the Harztheater, starting at 7:30 PM. Over the years, greats such as Klaus Doldinger, Till Brönner, Nils Landgren, the hr-Bigband Ensemble, and many others have performed here. In 2026, the 26th edition will take place on April 18th.

Lunar X and Jakob Manz Project

The headliners of the 26th Jazznacht are both young, both promising — and closely connected: Lunar X, the opening quartet from the Harz region, features saxophonist Jakob Manz. Alongside him are Hannes Stollsteimer on piano, Frieder Klein on bass, and Leo Asal on drums. In the summer of 2025, the band released their debut album „Circadian Cycle", which they will present live in Halberstadt.

The second set belongs to the Jakob Manz Project, the own band of the exceptional young saxophonist. Manz has collaborated with artists such as Sarah Connor. With their second studio album „The Answer" (2024), the band showcases their distinctive sound — direct, clear, dynamic, and with emotional depth.
