64th Hagen Easter Funfair from April 4th to 12th, 2026 at Festplatz Höing — Action rides, Family Day, Fireworks "Höing in Flammen" and Ladies' Night
The Hagen Easter Funfair has been a firm fixture in Westphalia's funfair calendar since the early 1960s — one of the first major spring funfairs in the region and the opening of the funfair season in the Ruhr/South Westphalia area. It is organized by the Hagen Showmen's Association in cooperation with the City of Hagen — the traditional constellation of funfair organizers. Hagen is a city in the southeastern Ruhr area (North Rhine-Westphalia, independent city) with almost 190,000 inhabitants, located on the Ennepe and Volme rivers.
The venue is Otto-Ackermann-Platz / Festplatz Höing in the Hagen district of Höing — a traditional funfair site on the southern city hill. The location "in Höing" is part of the brand name — the fireworks are traditionally called "Höing in Flammen", and the fairground itself is identified as "Höing".
The selection of rides is one of the strongest for a Westphalian spring funfair:
In addition, numerous children's rides for the younger clientele — one of the best family offerings in the region.
Opening April 4th: Mayor Dennis Rehbein officially opens the Easter Funfair — the traditional political ceremony to start. Family Day April 8th: reduced prices on most rides — the funfair as a more accessible family experience. Fireworks "Höing in Flammen" April 10th around 9 PM: the pyrotechnic highlight of the week, visible from far away in Hagen. Ladies' Night April 11th: special promotion for the female clientele, with special drinks and program.
Festplatz Höing is located on the southern edge of Hagen city center, easily accessible. By public transport: Bus line 525 or 542 from Hagen Main Station to stop "Hagen-Höing". By car: A 46 exit Hagen-Süd. Several paid parking lots in the vicinity — scarce on weekends. Hagen Main Station is well connected by ICE/IC and several regional lines from the Rhine-Ruhr area.
The 64th Hagen Easter Funfair 2026 spans nine days from Saturday, April 4th, to Sunday, April 12th. The Hagen Showmen's Association and the City of Hagen coordinate the lineup of showmen and rides at Otto-Ackermann-Platz / Festplatz Höing as every year.
The funfair will be opened on April 4th by Mayor Dennis Rehbein — the traditional political ceremony to start. The program highlights are spread throughout the week: Family Day on Wednesday, April 8th, with reduced prices on most rides; the grand fireworks display "Höing in Flammen" on Friday, April 10th, around 9 PM; the Ladies' Night on Saturday, April 11th.
