Summer Festival on the Zernsee
The Hafenfest Werder (Havel) brings the atmosphere of a Volksfest (public festival) to the promenade of the Havelauen at the end of July and beginning of August. For three days, the shore of the large Zernsee transforms into a festival mile with a stage program, street food stalls, and showmen – nestled in the picturesque location between water, meadows, and orchards. The town of Werder/Havel is located just 15 kilometers west of Potsdam and is connected to Berlin via the Havel River.
The Blossom Town Werder
For centuries, Werder has been known as the "fruit basket of Brandenburg." The town in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district extends across an island in the Havel River and the surrounding mainland. Landmarks such as the post mill, the historic island town, and the Blossom Festival have made Werder famous far beyond the region. The Hafenfest in the Havelauen complements this tradition with a modern summer festival by the water.

The Experience Card
Those who plan ahead can purchase an Experience Card for 2 people at a special price. It combines admission, selected activities, and gastronomy for a package price of €25 per person.
Hafenfest Werder — edition 2026
The 2026 Hafenfest will be celebrated from July 31 to August 2 in the Havelauen. The promenade "Zum großen Zernsee" will transform into a festival mile for three days with a stage program, showman businesses, and a street food mile.
The organizer is hauptstadtkultur.berlin in cooperation with the city of Werder/Havel. The grand finale on Sunday will be the large children's festival with bouncy castles, craft stations, and hands-on activities. Advance tickets – the so-called Experience Cards – can be purchased beforehand.

Getting There
Take the regional train RE1 from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to Werder/Havel in 30 minutes. From Werder station to the Havelauen promenade by bus or a 20-minute walk. By car, take the A10 or B1 to Werder.
