Gourmet Festival Cologne 2026 — Indulgence on the Rhine

From July 24th to 26th, 2026, the Gourmet Festival Cologne at the Chocolate Museum will open its white pagoda tents for the eleventh time. The setting couldn't be more beautiful: the Rhine and the Köln-Düsseldorfer ships to the right, the striking glass architecture of the Chocolate Museum to the left, and the crane houses of Rheinauhafen in the background. For three days, this promenade will transform into an open gourmet mile with around 90 exhibitors from the upscale gastronomy and food craft sectors.

Exhibitor Spectrum 2026

Wellfairs curates the festival with a clear focus — this is not about quick snacks, but about artisanal quality:

Upscale Street Food

  • Patisserie food trucks with soufflés, tarts, macarons
  • Burger concepts with dry-aged beef and Wagyu
  • Asian street food classics (Bao Buns, Dim Sum, Ramen)
  • Mediterranean specialties (Italian truffle pasta, Spanish tapas)
  • South American concepts (Peruvian ceviche, Brazilian picanha)

Wines and Champagnes

  • Winemakers from Germany, France, Italy, Spain
  • Natural wine specialists
  • Champagne houses with tasting services
  • Whisky and rum stands

Delicacies and Indulgence

  • Cheese affineurs and regional dairies
  • Olive oil manufacturers, balsamic vinegar, truffle products
  • Chocolate manufacturers and bean-to-bar providers
  • Coffee roasters with specialty coffee
  • Ice cream manufacturers and sorbets
  • Honey, jams, antipasti

Chocolate Museum — The Iconic Backdrop

The Cologne Chocolate Museum was founded in 1993 by the Imhoff family, heirs of Stollwerck, and is one of Cologne's most visited museums. With its glass architecture directly on the Rhine promenade, it is one of the most distinctive buildings in the redeveloped Rheinauhafen. The Gourmet Festival utilizes the large area in front of the museum as its festival grounds — in good weather, it's one of the most beautiful settings for open-air indulgence in Cologne.

Program Highlights

Friday — Upscale After-Work

Opening at 1 PM, Friday evening is dedicated to a relaxed start with an upscale after-work crowd. Ideal for connoisseurs who want to explore the full range of offerings without large crowds.

Saturday — Main Event Day

Largest crowd, family atmosphere, often busy from late afternoon. Those looking for tables should arrive early or be creative with standing room.

Sunday — Brunch and Wind-Down

Gentle conclusion, shorter opening hours (until 8 PM), often with live music in the background.

Wellfairs GmbH — The Organizer

Wellfairs GmbH, based in Korschenbroich, has been organizing the Gourmet Festival Cologne since 2015 and concurrently the larger Gourmet Festival Düsseldorf on Königsallee (over 200 exhibitors, up to 100,000 visitors). The Wellfairs family also includes the Krefeld Gourmet Festival and several themed street food formats. The 2026 dates were announced in early 2026.

Rheinauhafen Cologne — From Industrial Harbor to Trendy District

For over a century, Rheinauhafen was one of Germany's most important inland ports. After its closure as a freight port starting in 1999, one of Germany's most spectacular urban development projects began here in 2002 — the Kranhäuser (three distinctive L-shaped skyscrapers on the Rhine promenade) are the symbol of the transformed quarter. Today, residential buildings, offices, restaurants, and museums characterize the scene. The Gourmet Festival, alongside chocolate, is the most important summer tradition of Rheinauhafen.
