Cinema by the Sea

The Göhrener Kinosommer is one of the most charming summer events in the Ostseebad. On three August evenings, the inflatable open-air screen opens at the Kurpavillon – with the Baltic Sea at its back and under the starry sky of the Mönchgut peninsula.

Evening Schedule

• 7:00 PM – Admission and live music in front of the screen
• Solo concerts with changing artists (guitar, saxophone)
• When darkness falls – Film screening for the whole family
• Ends around 11 PM, depending on film length

Musicians as Support

The musical support acts are an integral part of the evening. Classical guitar pieces, saxophone sets, and acoustic cover versions create the mood in which the films unfold. The 2026 program includes Ron Beitz on guitar, Martin Becker on saxophone, and Richard K. on guitar, among others.

Who's Coming, What's Coming

The film program is deliberately aimed at the whole family, mixing entertaining mainstream titles with easily accessible arthouse films. Specific titles, as is customary with open-air cinemas, will be announced shortly before the start.

Region and Organizer

The organizer is the Kurverwaltung Ostseebad Göhren (Poststraße 9). Integrated into the summer event calendar of the Ostseebad, the Kinosommer is one of the accessible offerings with which Göhren on the island of Rügen positions itself as a relaxed family holiday destination in the Vorpommern-Rügen district.
