The GLOMB City Marathon Bremerhaven is the Seestadt's major running event. The start and finish are located in the Havenwelten, Bremerhaven's tourist heart on the waterfront. On a flat circuit through the city center and the Havenwelten, runners compete in the marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer run, and relay – a fast, atmospheric city run experience on the North Sea coast.

The 22nd GLOMB City Marathon Bremerhaven takes place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with start and finish in the Havenwelten. The event offers a marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer run, and a relay competition over 5-kilometer sections on a flat circuit through the city center and Havenwelten.

On September 6, 2026, the 22nd GLOMB City Marathon Bremerhaven starts. On the flat, fully asphalted circuit through Bremerhaven, the marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer run, a 7-kilometer run, a relay marathon, as well as children's and youth runs are on the program. The run is organized by Execute Sports Events.

Course

The start of all main races is at the Bürgermeister-Smidt-Gedächtniskirche (Große Kirche) in the city center. The flat, asphalted course leads across the Geeste through the south of the city to the dike, with a turn-around in the harbor area, and back past the lighthouse and zoo. The marathon runs 4 laps, the half marathon 2 laps. The run is accompanied by a sports and health fair in the Havenwelten.

BEG Corporate and Public Sector Run

As part of the event, a corporate and public sector run will also be held in 2026.

Online registration via the event portal; entry fee tiered by distance and registration period (late registration is more expensive). Group registrations of 10 or more participants receive a 10% team discount (registration via a separate email address). Current prices in the official announcement.

Getting There

Start and finish Havenwelten, 27568 Bremerhaven. Centrally located and easily accessible by bus; due to road closures, arrival by public transport is recommended.

Registration

Online registration via the event portal until shortly before the race, followed by late registration with a higher entry fee. Results will be published online.

City Run on the North Sea Coast

If you love flat, fast courses, the GLOMB City Marathon Bremerhaven is your race: the start and finish are in the Havenwelten – the maritime experience district with the Klimahaus, Auswandererhaus, and German Emigration Center that has made Bremerhaven famous beyond the region. From here, the course leads in a flat loop through the city center and along the Havenwelten.
