About German-Polish Park Festival

The German-Polish Park Festival commemorates annually on the last Saturday in May the inclusion of the Prince Pückler Park in the UNESCO World Heritage Site (2004). The park is Germany's first and only binational World Heritage Site, uniting two countries — Germany and Poland, separated only by the Neisse river. During the Park Festival, the Polish side welcomes visitors with culinary specialties at the English House and craft demonstrations, followed by a short arts program for the whole family in the afternoon.

Prince Pückler and his Park

The Prince Pückler Park in Bad Muskau is the masterpiece of the famous landscape architect Hermann Prince of Pückler-Muskau (1785–1871) — a total work of garden art in the English landscape tradition, extending over 830 hectares on both sides of the Neisse river. Its location precisely on the current German-Polish border makes the park a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site: it is Germany's first and only binational World Heritage Site.

20 Years of UNESCO World Heritage

Since its inscription on the World Heritage List in 2004, the park has been a symbol of German-Polish cooperation. The annual Park Festival on the last Saturday in May celebrates this heritage and makes it tangible for visitors. The Polish side (Łęknica) welcomes visitors with specialties and demonstrations at the English House, while the German side (Bad Muskau) offers guided tours and a cultural program around the New Palace.

Program between the Countries

In the morning, visitors can explore the Polish craft demonstrations near the nursery (on the Polish side), the market stalls with Polish specialties at the English House, and the German program points at the New Palace. In the afternoon, a short, entertaining arts program for the whole family follows — theater, music, dance, hands-on activities. The Double Bridge and the English Bridge over the Neisse become vibrant bridges between cultures.

In the Park's Annual Cycle

The German-Polish Park Festival is part of a rich annual calendar in the Prince Pückler Park: Winter Light Festival in February, Park Festival at the end of May, Summer Picnic at the beginning of July, Castle Christmas during Advent. Those who visit Bad Muskau once a year will find a suitable event in every season.

German-Polish Park Festival — edition 2026

The German-Polish Park Festival 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 30, in the Prince Pückler Park Bad Muskau. The Polish side welcomes visitors with culinary specialties at the English House and craft demonstrations, followed by a short arts program for the whole family in the afternoon. Free admission.

The festival runs for one day (last Saturday in May) and distributes its program points across both sides of the park. The Double Bridge and the English Bridge over the Neisse are the central connecting elements — visitors cross the border between Germany and Poland several times during the day.

The Bad Muskau Touristik GmbH coordinates the program on the German side, and the Polish park authority (Park Mużakowski) on the Polish side. Both institutions have been working closely together since the UNESCO World Heritage application in 2004.
