Three-day Village Festival in the Leisure Park
Weißkeißel, a small village in the Saxon part of Upper Lusatia near the Polish border, hosts its village festival in the community's leisure park once a year. In 2026, the festival coincides with the 100th birthday of the Weißkeißel Volunteer Fire Brigade, founded in 1926 – a special edition of the regular summer festival.
Highland Games and Summer Night Ball
The regular program includes the Highland Games – Scottish-inspired competitions in log throwing, tug-of-war, and similar disciplines, which will take place for the second time in 2026. On Saturday evening, the Summer Night Ball invites guests to dance, while a fire brigade technology show and a musical Frühschoppen on Sunday with musicians from the Ebersbach Fire Brigade round off the program.

The second edition of the Highland Games on Saturday from 1 p.m. brings Scottish-inspired disciplines to the Saxon village. Log throwing, tug-of-war, and other powerful competitions invite participants and spectators.
