Stadtflimmern — Three Weekends of Bottrop Summer Culture

Stadtflimmern Bottrop is a relatively young cultural festival, launched by the Bottrop Cultural Office in 2021. It has since become a firm fixture in Bottrop's summer calendar — a series of open-air weekends featuring music, theatre, children's programmes, and participatory activities. Venue: the Kulturhof at the August Everding Cultural Centre, named after the Bottrop theatre maker and director.

Stadtflimmern 2026 runs over three weekends in September:

• Weekend 1: Friday, September 4th – Sunday, September 6th, 2026
• Weekend 2: Friday, September 11th – Sunday, September 13th, 2026
• Weekend 3: Friday, September 18th – Sunday, September 20th, 2026

Each weekend has its own thematic focus — music, theatre, family — and several open-air events per day.

Where: Kulturhof at the August Everding Cultural Centre

The August Everding Cultural Centre is one of Bottrop's central cultural hubs, located right in the city centre. The associated Kulturhof is a cosy courtyard with an open stage, seating areas, food stalls, and a bar — a weather-protected setting that becomes the city's open-air living room in the summer.
