DFB Final 4 in the sand of the Strand Arena
The German Beach Soccer Championship has been held by the German Football Association (DFB) since the 2010s and is considered the season highlight of the German Beach Soccer League. In 2026, the DFB will set up its sand arena in Warnemünde again – directly at beach access 1 under the famous lighthouse.
Over two days, the four best teams in the league will compete in the classic Final 4 format: semi-finals on Saturday, third-place match and final on Sunday – separated by women and men. Simultaneously, youth tournaments for girls' and boys' teams will take place to promote young German beach soccer talent.
The Strand Arena under the lighthouse offers around 1,000 seats in the stands and is oriented towards the pitch made of white Baltic Sea sand. Spectacular bicycle kicks, intense tackles, and the maritime backdrop make the event one of the most attractive sand sports events in Northern Germany.
Around the arena, stalls, interactive activities, and catering offer a varied beach weekend. Admission is free – a conscious decision by the DFB to make beach soccer more widely visible in Germany.
Warnemünde is the maritime district of the Hanseatic city of Rostock in the district of Rostock (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). The sandy beach between the pier and the cliff is a central venue for major sporting events in the summer: Beach soccer championship, DLRG Cup, High Seaciety Festival, and beach tennis tournaments follow one another.
The 2026 edition of the German Beach Soccer Championship will make Warnemünde the center of German beach soccer on August 29 and 30. In the Strand Arena under the lighthouse, the four best teams of the German Beach Soccer League will compete for the national championship title for women and men in a Final 4 format.
In parallel, the finals of the DFB Beach Soccer Tour will determine the season winners for women and men. Youth tournaments for girls' and boys' teams will provide a stage for young talent. Playing times on both days are from 10 AM to 6 PM. Admission is free, with an accompanying program of interactive activities and catering around the arena.
