The Concept: Not Street Food, but Iserlohn Restaurants

What sets Genuss Pur — Iserlohner Sommernächte apart from comparable summer festivals: It's not food trucks cooking here, but eight established Iserlohn restaurants setting up their outdoor kitchens at Fritz-Kühn-Platz for the four festival days. The result is a curated gastronomic diversity — from upscale Sauerland cuisine and Mediterranean specialties to Asian fusion. Visitors also get to know Iserlohn's restaurant scene.

Two Stages, 16 Bands

Over the four festival days, 16 bands will perform on two stages. The programming typically covers a broad spectrum: cover bands for sing-along vibes, jazz combos for an elegant atmosphere, funk-soul acts for the dance floor, regionally known singer-songwriters for acoustic slots. The stages are strategically placed across the square to avoid acoustic overlaps.

• Street Theatre: Walking acts parade between the tables — jugglers, mimes, acrobats.
• Family Programme: face painting for children, hands-on activities, small performances during the day.
• 2,000+ Seats: a comfortable festival experience without the struggle for space.

The festival runs from Thursday, August 13, 2026, to Sunday, August 16, 2026 — four days long at Fritz-Kühn-Platz in Iserlohn's city center. The 21st edition means the concept is well-tested, logistics are streamlined, and the city is prepared.

Iserlohner Sommernächte — The Umbrella Format

Genuss Pur is part of the larger Iserlohner Sommernächte, a city marketing series with various events throughout the summer. Genuss Pur is its most prominent and highest-attended format. The organizer is Stadtmarketing Iserlohn in close cooperation with the DieISERLOHNER city association and the participating restaurants.

Iserlohn and Refined Tastes

Iserlohn, with almost 100,000 inhabitants, is the largest city in the Märkischer Kreis and is located in the western Sauerland — between the Hochsauerland and the Ruhr area. Its gastronomic scene is surprisingly dense and diverse: Michelin-star level (Restaurant Aux Petits Plaisirs) alongside Sauerland cuisine, Italian family businesses next to vegan start-ups. Genuss Pur makes this scene visible in the city center for four days annually.
