Folk Festival with a Long Tradition
The Garser Volksfest has been a firm fixture in the Upper Bavarian Inn-Salzach region for over 50 years. It takes place on the Volksfestwiese at Klosterhof Au in the market town of Gars am Inn (Mühldorf am Inn district, Bavaria). For several years, it has been continued under the name "Garser Au-Dult" and has been repositioned after a successful restart.
Festival Tent, Amusement Rides, and Lively Music
For seven days, the Au-Dult offers a colourful festival program: lively music in the festival tent, numerous amusement rides and activities, as well as regional beers. The Lettl family, known for their hospitality and service for years, provides the catering, ensuring unforgettable hours. For those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, the "Salettl" offers a smaller area for wine and socialising, along with coffee and cake.
Opening with Concert and Wiesn Procession
The folk festival opens on the first Friday with a concert in the Klosterhof Au at 6 p.m., combined with the "Day of Good Neighbourliness," followed by a festive Wiesn procession. The traditional beer tapping marks the start of the festival days.
Atmosphere
The Garser Au-Dult combines Bavarian folk festival spirit with the village charm of the Inn region. Between beer tent music, carousels, and the hustle and bustle of the festival grounds, families, clubs, and guests from near and far celebrate together. For the region, the Au-Dult is a social highlight in spring.
