A City Festival of Music
The Fürth Festival is one of the largest free open-air music festivals in Bavaria. Since its first edition in 1998, it has become a firm fixture in the event calendar of Middle Franconia, drawing more than 100,000 people into the city center of Fürth, the "Kleeblattstadt" (cloverleaf city) in the district-equivalent urban district of Fürth.
Five Stages in the City Center
Over three days, the organizers use five central squares in Fürth's city center for live music:
- Hallplatz
- Kirchenplatz next to St. Michael's Church
- Grüner Markt
- Lindenhain
- Fürther Freiheit
The program diversity ranges from rock and pop to singer-songwriters and world music, covering both regional talents and nationally known artists.
The Gnadenlos-Grand-Prix
A special feature of Fürth is the Gnadenlos-Grand-Prix, which traditionally opens the festival on Friday evening. The humorous band competition is one of the most iconic program items and attracts a large audience.
Free and Right in the Middle
Admission to the Fürth Festival is free. This makes the festival not only a major musical event but also a social one, involving the entire city. The program is accompanied by city walks, gastronomy, and an extensive supporting program.
