Three clubs — one festival: 155 years FFW + 100 years TuS + 40 years Theaterverein
2026 is an exceptional festival year in Großkarolinenfeld. Three of the community's most important clubs are celebrating milestone birthdays simultaneously and have decided to celebrate their anniversaries together:
155 + 100 + 40 = 295 years. This calculation gives the festival its name and its ambition.
The festival week runs from May 7th to May 18th, 2026, alternating between classic festival tent operations and special events. It opens on May 7th with a Brettlspitzen show, the Upper Bavarian folk theater format blending cabaret, folk music, and dance. Following this, the parallel Frühlingsfest with its festival tent, amusement rides, and beer tables runs from May 8th to 14th. May 15th features a DJ night, May 16th musical performances, May 17th the grand festival Sunday with a parade, and May 18th the joint club day with a traditional meal.
The venue is the Volksfestplatz (fairgrounds) directly next to the town hall. It's described as "a small Volksfest with a family atmosphere" — typically Upper Bavarian, with a rifle salute from the local marksmen, a traditional beer tapping ceremony, and musical highlights like the bands "Die Karolinenfelder" and "Dreder Musi". Complementing this are Bavarian beer, Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) with dumplings, grilled fish, and sweets — the classic Volksfest menu.
Großkarolinenfeld is located in the Rosenheim district, in the state of Bavaria, in the pre-Alpine region between Rosenheim and the Inn Valley. The municipality has around 6,000 inhabitants and is part of the Chiemsee-Alpenland tourism region. The anniversary festival week attracts visitors from the entire district and beyond.
The 2026 festival week is confirmed on the joint website of the three clubs (festwoche-2026.de) and on the official Chiemsee-Alpenland tourism platform. Ticket pre-sales for locals begin on December 1st, 2025, with general sales starting on December 8th, 2025.
The festival days will be marked by a rifle salute from the local marksmen, the traditional beer tapping ceremony, and music from the bands "Die Karolinenfelder", "Dreder Musi", and other regional and contemporary acts. Classic Volksfest dishes such as Bavarian beer, Schweinshaxe with dumplings, grilled fish, and sweets complement the program.
