The Frühjahrskirmes Oer-Erkenschwick is one of the fixed spring dates in the northern Ruhr area. The Kirmes traditionally takes place in the central city area and is a continuous Volksfest over three days with a classic mix of rides, food stalls, and game booths.

Oer-Erkenschwick and the Vest Recklinghausen

Oer-Erkenschwick is located in the historic Vest Recklinghausen — a region north of the Ruhr area with its own tradition of mining and rural districts.
