Town festival for beach opening
FRIEDRICHSKOOG KANN Meer! is the big town festival for the official opening of the renovated Trischendiek beach in Friedrichskoog. The North Sea coastal community has comprehensively renovated the traditional beach, and its reopening is being celebrated with a four-day town festival, which also marks the 20th anniversary of the "Festival am Deich". Four days of concerts, family events, and beach atmosphere.
Four-day program
The festival runs from Thursday to Sunday and is designed as a mix of concert opening, family festival, and beach opening:
- Thursday, July 2nd: Kick-off with live music from Julia Mc Collion and Hot Banditoz – Celebration of the 20th anniversary of Festival am Deich
- Friday, July 3rd: Family Day with children's cinema from 3 p.m. and sing-along parties
- Saturday, July 4th: Highlight – official opening of Trischendiek beach at 11 a.m., DJ Marc Hunnenberg, Gerrit Hoss, and in the evening Sonia Liebing
- Sunday, July 5th: Frühschoppen (morning pint) with the choir "Blaue Jungs" from 11 a.m. and Children's Day from 2 p.m.
Sonia Liebing as a musical highlight
The musical highlight is the performance by Sonia Liebing on Saturday evening, one of the most famous voices in modern German pop music. In addition, the performance by Gerrit Hoss and the DJ sets by Marc Hunnenberg shape the festival's character. The opening of the beach at 11 a.m. is an official ceremony with community representatives and a ceremonial speech.
Region: Friedrichskoog, Dithmarschen District
Friedrichskoog is a North Sea community in the far west of the Dithmarschen district, directly on the Elbe estuary mudflats. Its location between the Eider, Elbe, and North Sea makes it a popular family holiday destination with mudflats, a seal sanctuary, and beach holidays. The reopening of Trischendiek beach is therefore a major local event – the town festival combines the official beach celebration with the 20-year tradition of the Festival am Deich.
