11th edition of the largest student open-air festival on Lake Constance — two days of pop, indie, and electronic music right on the lakeshore
The Campus Festival Konstanz is the largest student-organized festival in Southern Germany and boasts one of the most beautiful open-air locations in Germany: the Bodenseestadion is located directly on the lakeshore, with a panorama of Lake Constance and a skyline of the Alps and water. Since 2015 — the 11th edition runs in 2026 — the festival annually attracts tens of thousands of festival-goers from the Lake Constance region, from the High Rhine to Vorarlberg, to this shore.
Two days, four stages — a mix of German and international pop music, indie, hip-hop, house, and techno. The lineup changes every year; the curatorial line is aimed at current, young audiences without being confined to a single genre. One day might feature Apache 207 with Annenmaykantereit or a house DJ alongside an indie headliner — the mix is eclectic and ambitious.
The festival is student-organized: management, booking, production, festival direction, volunteers — all handled by Campus Festival Konstanz gemeinnützige GmbH and a host of volunteer students from the University of Konstanz and HTWG Konstanz. This organization shapes its character: less commercialized than commercial festivals, with fair ticket prices and a high proportion of volunteer work.
The Bodenseestadion is Konstanz's sports arena, located directly on the lakeshore in the Stadelhofen district. In festival mode, the sports field becomes the festival area; stages are erected inside the stadium and on adjacent grounds. Its lakeside location is legendary: at sunset, the waters of Lake Constance seem to flow into the stadium interior, and the view of the Alps accompanies the concerts.
Konstanz, with around 86,000 inhabitants, is the largest city on Lake Constance and a classic university town. During the festival weekend, the city transforms: student shared flats fill up with guests, the downtown bars and cafés are crowded in the afternoons, and the ferry to Meersburg carries festival-goers. An extended weekend on Lake Constance is recommended — festival by the lake, the Swiss shore by ferry, or excursions to Mainau Island or Meersburg.
The 11th edition opens the 2026 Southern German festival season: Two days of open-air by the lake, four stages, a lineup mixing German and international acts. The Bodenseestadion offers the blend of stadium atmosphere and lakeside beauty that makes the festival unique.
