About Fränkische Heimattage

The Fränkische Heimattage celebrate regional roots at the historic Gutshof Mengersdorf in the municipality of Mistelgau: artisanal products, Franconian specialties, rare plants, and family activities. On June 6 and 7, 2026, Heimatmacher e.V. will transform the manor courtyard into a market with around 80 exhibitors, a beer garden with regional coffee, and free admission. The shuttle bus from Therme Obernsees will bring visitors to the site for just 1 Euro.

Homeland You Can Touch

The Fränkische Heimattage is a young but rapidly growing homeland festival on the edge of the Northern Franconian Switzerland. Initiated by Heimatmacher e.V., the event takes place annually at the traditional Gutshof Mengersdorf, a historic Franconian four-sided farmstead in the municipality of Mistelgau (Bayreuth district, Upper Franconia). The motto: regional, seasonal, sustainable, handmade. Exhibitors are exclusively small Franconian manufactories, farmers, plant breeders, and artisans.

Assortment and Atmosphere

Presented at the manor courtyard: handmade regional wooden items, leather products, pottery, candles, honey, seeds, rare tomato plants (~80 varieties from regional breeders), wool products, children's fashion from Franconian manufactories, and much more. The beer garden serves dishes with a regional focus – also vegetarian – along with coffee from a local roastery. The association values a free admission concept: no one should stay home because of money.

3rd Edition 2026

After the first two editions in 2024 and 2025, the third edition will take place in 2026. The date – Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7, 2026, starting at 11 am each day – was deliberately chosen for the first weekend in June when the Franconian Switzerland is in full bloom and the plant market can present its largest assortment.

Gutshof Mengersdorf and Region

Mengersdorf is a district of Mistelgau at the entrance to Franconian Switzerland. The manor courtyard is one of the most beautiful preserved four-sided farmsteads in Upper Franconia and serves as an event location for weddings, workshops, and markets. The Northern Franconian Switzerland, with its castles, hiking trails, and karst landscape, surrounds the market.

Fränkische Heimattage — edition 2026

The 3rd Fränkische Heimattage 2026 will take place on June 6 and 7, 2026, starting at 11 am each day at Gutshof Mengersdorf in Mistelgau. Heimatmacher e.V. invites you to a market with regional crafts, Franconian specialties, rare plants, and a beer garden. Free admission.

Heimattage 2026 at the Manor Courtyard

On June 6 and 7, 2026, Heimatmacher e.V. will transform Gutshof Mengersdorf into a market for regional Franconian manufactories for the third time. It is open on both Saturday and Sunday from 11 am. Free admission – only the shuttle bus from Therme Obernsees costs 1 Euro per person, as parking spaces directly at the manor courtyard are scarce.

Exhibitors are exclusively small Franconian manufactories and farmers: wooden items, candles, pottery, honey, wool products, seeds, plants, children's fashion. A tomato market with around 80 varieties from regional breeders has been a crowd-puller since the beginning. The beer garden serves Franconian beer, coffee from a regional roastery, as well as vegetarian and fish dishes.
