Dance festival on Easter weekend at Theater Bremen
While Easter eggs are being hunted elsewhere, Bremen is dancing: With Four Days Dance, the in-house company Unusual Symptoms at Theater Bremen on Goetheplatz invites you to a packed festival weekend centred around contemporary dance. You'll experience full-length productions, compact formats, and an open supporting programme – a festival that showcases dance in all its diversity while opening up the Hanseatic theatre operations to a young, international audience.
The focus is on choreographies by renowned artists – in the past, for example, by Samir Akika, Josep Caballero Garcia, and Michikazu Matsune. A special highlight is the Kiki Ball, where Voguing and Ballroom culture takes over the Small Theatre (Kleines Haus) with performances, categories, and its own community energy. In cooperation with tanzbar_bremen and the Bremen Ballroom scene, the festival combines professional stage art with vibrant subculture.
Four Days Dance is more than just watching. Vogue Femme workshops and masterclasses, multi-day workshop formats, physical prologues before performances, and audience discussions make the festival a place for participation and exchange. A Ballroom History Lecture and accessible offers such as audio description expand access for a broad audience.
The venue is Theater Bremen with its Small Theatre (Kleines Haus) in the city centre, within walking distance of the Viertel and the city centre. The central location on Goetheplatz makes the Easter festival an easily accessible cultural highlight that heralds the Bremen dance spring.
The Easter weekend 2026 at Theater Bremen is dedicated entirely to contemporary dance. For four days, Unusual Symptoms will showcase productions such as The Tide, Tomorrow we dreamed of yesterday, and The Last Dance, alongside the Kiki Ball – Treasures of the Ocean featuring Voguing and Ballroom, and workshops like Collective Singularities and Vogue Femme Masterclasses.
Physical prologues before performances, audience discussions, workshops, and masterclasses. Accessible: Audio description and tactile tours for selected performances.
Kiki Ball: solidarity pricing system €20 / €15 / €10. „2-for-1 Special" for two performances with 50% savings. Tickets via theaterbremen.de or the theatre box office (0421 365-3333).
