About Forellenfest Heimsheim
Forellenfest Heimsheim — edition 2026
Schedule for June 20, 2026
The festival is designed as a one-day event with a clear progression:
4:00 PM — Festival Opens
The catering stands and the trout grill open. The first guests arrive, and the atmosphere slowly builds.
5:00 PM — First Live Music
An accordion duo or solo entertainer plays Swabian and Southern German classics for a gentle start. The exact band lineup will be published on the TSV website a few weeks before the festival.
6:00 PM–8:00 PM — Main Dining Time
Most guests order their trout. Waiting times at the grill can be a bit longer during peak hours — this is part of the relaxed atmosphere. Families and regulars sit at the beer tables, children run around the castle courtyard.
8:00 PM–10:30 PM — Main Music Sets
The dance floor becomes livelier — hits and sing-along songs from the 80s and 90s, interspersed with summer classics. The evening gets warmer, the mood more relaxed.
11:00 PM — Festival Ends
Official end. The TSV volunteers dismantle the stands — much of it will be documented in the following days on the club's website and Instagram.
Other Information
In case of bad weather, the grill will operate under pavilions; part of the castle courtyard offers covered areas. Table reservations are generally not necessary — those who arrive early are sure to get a seat.

A Festival Named After Its Specialty
The Forellenfest of TSV Heimsheim is not coincidentally named: the main attraction is the freshly prepared trout — as a whole fish from the grill, pan-fried, or as a fillet. Trout from regional fish farms (typically from the Black Forest or the trout streams of the Enzkreis) are prepared on-site over an open fire or in a pan. Side dishes are Swabian classics: roasted almond rice, boiled potatoes, salad — and of course, herb butter and fresh lemon.
Heimsheim Castle Courtyard as the Venue
The venue is the historic Heimsheim Castle courtyard. Heimsheim Castle dates back to the Württemberg Renaissance period and today houses the town hall. The castle courtyard itself — an open inner courtyard between the Renaissance wings — is a picturesque, enclosed festival area that is opened for local events. In summer weather, it creates an almost Mediterranean atmosphere with the stone facades in the background.
Program and Atmosphere
The festival unfolds as a typical Swabian summer festival:
- 4:00 PM: Festival opens — catering and trout stands open
- 5:00 PM: First live music (usually an accordion duo or solo entertainer with a songbook)
- 6:00 PM–8:00 PM: Main dining time — most guests eat their trout
- 8:00 PM–10:30 PM: Longer music sets, dancing in the courtyard
- 11:00 PM: Festival ends
Heimsheim — Town in the Heckengäu
With just under 6,000 inhabitants, Heimsheim is a small town in the Enzkreis (AGS 08236) on the southern edge of the Heckengäu, between Pforzheim and Stuttgart. Economically shaped by a few medium-sized businesses and its location on the A8 motorway, the town offers a historic backdrop with its castle and an active sports club in the TSV.
TSV Heimsheim 1904 e.V. — Sports Club as Organizer
For over 120 years, TSV Heimsheim 1904 e.V. has been the largest sports club in the town — with departments for football, gymnastics, table tennis, and sports for children/seniors. The Forellenfest is one of the club's annual fundraising events; the proceeds go directly to youth work (equipment, coaching courses, sports equipment) and ongoing club costs.
Free Admission, Food and Drinks On-Site
The festival area is freely accessible; payment is only for food and drinks. Trout approx. €12, side dishes separate prices (€1–€3), draft beer €4, wine spritzer €4.50 (with wine from the Enzkreis). Family atmosphere, many regular guests from the town and surrounding areas.
