Fourteen Food Trucks in the Shadow of the Parish Church

The Lichtenfels Food Truck Festival is one of the most popular spring events in the Upper Franconian basket-making town. Organized by Stadtmarketing Lichtenfels e.V. in cooperation with Funtastic GmbH, one of the leading food truck organizers nationwide, the market square transforms into a hotspot of mobile culinary culture for a weekend in March.

International Cuisine Under the Open Sky

The approximately 14 trucks bring culinary quality and variety: burritos, pulled pork burgers, Vietnamese bao buns, Italian pasta served in a loaf, Indian curries, Hungarian langos, Korean BBQ, crêpes, and vegan bowls. Those who wish can sample their way through all the stalls, accompanied by cocktails from the mobile bar.

Family and City Centre Programme

In addition to the food truck offerings, the town offers Sunday shopping with Lichtenfels' shops and a mobility mile with e-bikes, e-scooters, and cargo bikes on Sunday. Families will find a programme including Kasperltheater (Punch and Judy show), acrobats, stilt walkers, a bouncy castle, and face painting. A chill-out area, henna tattoos, and live bands round off the weekend.

Lichtenfels – Germany's Basket-Making Town

Since the 19th century, Lichtenfels has been known as the German basket-making town – the basket-making trade shapes the town's identity to this day. The market square, with its renovated half-timbered and sandstone houses, is one of the most beautiful settings in Upper Franconia's city centre and provides an unusually charming backdrop for the Food Truck Festival.
