Open-air concert by the Depeche Mode tribute band REMODE at the historic Packhaus
Tönning is one of the oldest towns in North Frisia — located at the mouth of the Eider river, with the historic Packhaus (warehouse) from 1783 as its landmark. The Packhaus was originally built as a storage facility for salt, grain, and cattle trading and today serves as a concert hall, event space, and symbol of the town. The inner courtyard and the harbor square in front of the Packhaus form an open-air stage with an unusual atmosphere — water, historic brick building, and the wide sky of the Eider estuary.
The band REMODE from Bielefeld has been considered one of the most distinguished Depeche Mode tribute bands in the German-speaking world for years. They go beyond the cover band format: their own stage concept, synchronized LED visuals, and uncompromising sonic fidelity result in a live show that would rarely stand up to their idols' concerts without a wink. REMODE regularly tours Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Poland.
The setlist includes the greatest hits from the Depeche Mode catalog: "People Are People", "Personal Jesus", "Wrong", "Just Can't Get Enough", "Enjoy The Silence", "Strangelove", "Master and Servant", "Black Celebration", and many more — curated from several decades of Depeche Mode history. The LED wall displays accompanying visual compositions synchronized with the songs, reminiscent of Depeche Mode's opulent stadium shows.
In recent years, the Packhaus Tönning has become a permanent music venue at the Eider estuary. The program includes tribute concerts, singer-songwriters, jazz, and classical music — REMODE on July 4, 2026, is one of the musical highlights of the season. The town of Tönning has actively expanded its summer event program at the Packhaus and is considered one of the more interesting venues for organizers who appreciate historical settings in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The Tönning concert is part of the REMODE 2026 tour, which takes the band throughout Germany. An open-air atmosphere with harbor flair and the unmistakable backdrop of the Eider estuary will be created at the historic Packhaus Tönning.
The quintet from Bielefeld brings its elaborate stage show — synchronized LED visuals, precise sound technology, and a 90- to 120-minute setlist from the entire Depeche Mode catalog. In case of rain, the event will move inside the Packhaus.
