Elmshorn — Capital of the Pinneberg District

Elmshorn, with around 50,000 inhabitants, is the largest city in the Pinneberg District in the state of Schleswig-Holstein and is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Hamburg. The city on the Krückau River combines a historic city center with modern commercial and harbor structures and is considered a main hub of the Hamburg metropolitan area. The city marketing department traditionally organizes four open shopping Sundays a year, each with its own thematic focus.

Four Shopping Sundays, One Enjoyment Sunday

The concept Four dates, one city, one experience for everyone stands for the annual event quartet. The fourth date in autumn is traditionally dedicated to the Food Truck Fest and has become one of the most attractive city center events in the district. While the shops are open between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., the central Holstenplatz becomes a food truck mile.

In recent years, artists such as Malvin Meven, Jannik Platte, Harbour Violet, and Hauke Pajonk have graced the Holstenplatz stage — a program that complements the relaxed Sunday atmosphere without overshadowing the city center character.
