Limbach Fire Brigade Festival Kirkel

In the Limbach district

Limbach is one of the three districts of the municipality of Kirkel in the Saarpfalz district (alongside Kirkel-Neuhäusel and Altstadt). The region is characterized by the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and a committed club landscape, in which the Volunteer Fire Brigade plays a central role. The Limbach fire brigade district, as an independent unit of the Kirkel fire brigade, is an important part of the social fabric of the district.

The annual club festival

The fire brigade festival at the Limbach fire station is one of the annual highlights of the village festival calendar. It serves two purposes at once:

• Community festival for the Limbach population – a meeting point for families, neighbors, club members
• Fundraising for the brigade's work, as the Volunteer Fire Brigade relies on the support of the community

• Family program: often with demonstrations by the brigade (fire engine tours, small exercises)

Unlike commercial folk festivals (Volksfeste), these events are entirely supported by volunteers – by the brigade members and their families themselves.
