Göckelesfest Feuerbach — Swabian 'Hocketse' with Chicken from the Grill

The Feuerbacher Göckelesfest is one of the most traditional 'Hocketsen' (gatherings/festivals) in the Stuttgart district of Feuerbach — and its name already reveals the culinary focus: 'Göckel' (Swabian for 'roast chicken') is roasted on the grill for three days and is the main culinary attraction. The festival is organized jointly by two sports clubs: HBI Weilimdorf/Feuerbach (Handball) and SportVG Feuerbach (Bowling). Venue: the Hugo-Kunzi-Halle at Feuerbach Sports Park, Am Sportpark 4. Date 2026: Friday, May 8, to Sunday, May 10.

Festival Tent, Beer Garden, and Three Very Different Evenings

The festival follows the classic 'Hocketse' format: a festival tent with a stage and long tables, and a beer garden in front. Friday starts at 5 PM with live music from 7 PM — the band Monday Seven Thirty plays rock and pop. Saturday begins at 11 AM; in the afternoon, the Musikverein Feuerbach (12–2 PM) plays for the lunch 'Hocketse', and in the evening from 7 PM, Biko & The Damaged Labour Horns take the stage — horn-driven rock with a funk influence. Sunday starts at 11 AM with brunch and Swabian 'Frühschoppen' (morning pint/gathering), from 12–2 PM the Blaskapelle Leannka plays, and the event closes at 6 PM.

Mother's Day with Free Sparkling Wine for All Mothers

Sunday, May 10, 2026, is Mother's Day — and the Göckelesfest honors this with a lovely gesture: Every mother receives a free glass of sparkling wine on Mother's Day. A family tradition that has shaped the festival for years.

Swabian Traditional Food Offerings

Besides the star attraction, 'Göckel' from the grill, the clubs serve a wide selection: cold beer on tap, Swabian and Württembergian wines, cocktails, soft drinks, sausages, fries, wedges, falafel (for vegetarians), coffee, cakes, and pastries. Classic 'Hocketse' cuisine in the Swabian tradition.

Feuerbach — Stuttgart District with Its Own Identity

Feuerbach, with around 27,000 inhabitants, is one of Stuttgart's larger districts, located in the north of the city, between Stuttgart-West and Zuffenhausen. The Feuerbach Sports Park is one of the most important sports facilities in the city districts and hosts several clubs. Stuttgart itself is the capital of Baden-Württemberg; Feuerbach is excellently connected to the city center by subway (U6, U13) and S-Bahn (S6).
