Annweiler Stadtfest

VfB Annweiler as Host of Catering

VfB Annweiler – Verein für Bewegungsspiele Annweiler – is one of the city's most traditional clubs and is responsible for catering at the Stadtfest. The VfB teams and volunteers serve draft beer, offer Palatinate specialties – Saumagen, Bratwurst, Leberknödel, Flammkuchen – and keep the festival running. The proceeds go to the club's activities, particularly supporting the youth department.

City Center as Festival Backdrop

The Annweiler city center, with its historic half-timbered houses, market square, Queich bridge, and parish church, provides a distinctive festival backdrop. During the Stadtfest, the city center is filled with festival stands, small stages, beverage service, and seating areas. The atmosphere is familiar and relaxed – Annweiler, with around 7,000 inhabitants, is a manageable town, and the Stadtfest is accordingly not a mass event.

Live Music and Atmosphere

Live bands, acoustic duos, or DJs provide the musical accompaniment. The program is tailored to the Palatinate Stadtfest audience – cover songs, Schlager, Palatinate dialect pop, rock classics. The stage in the market square or a central location hosts the main program, with smaller performances spread along the festival mile.

Annweiler and the Trifelsland

Annweiler am Trifels is the historic capital of the Trifelsland and is located at the entrance to the Wasgau. The Trifels Imperial Castle – once an imperial castle of the Staufer era and repository of the imperial regalia – sits enthroned on a sandstone rock above the city. Visitors to the Annweiler Stadtfest should consider incorporating a climb to the castle or a hike in the Palatinate Forest into their weekend.
