Open-air music festival to mark the start of summer in the district town of Havelland
Since its invention in Paris in 1982, the Fête de la Musique has become a global phenomenon – and it has also found a firm home in Nauen, the largest town in the Havelland district of Brandenburg. On June 21, 2026, the town will open its squares, courtyards, and restaurants to mark the astronomical start of summer with a decentralized music festival where the stage can be anywhere.
Three central locations form the core of the event:
Rock, pop, folk, and acoustic formats alternate on the stages. Choirs and school bands are given a platform, as are established regional acts. The concept thrives on musical diversity and the idea of music conquering the entire city.
The character of the Fête de la Musique is participatory: the city of Nauen and the organizer TOBO actively seek local musicians who want to play for free – all styles are welcome, from singer-songwriters to brass bands. You can apply for a slot early in the spring and present your music in Nauen's old town.
The concerts start in the afternoon and continue long after midnight. Restaurants, cafés, and snack bars around the venues keep their outdoor seating open, making the music festival a city festival and a culinary tour of Nauen at the same time. Admission is free at all locations.
To mark the astronomical start of summer, local and regional acts will perform on three open-air stages in Nauen's city center. The main stage at Martin-Luther-Platz is complemented by courtyard concerts at the Berliner Hof on Goethestraße and at the Semnonenbund club on Ludwig-Jahn-Straße. The complete lineup will be announced shortly in June 2026 by the city of Nauen and TOBO Veranstaltungsservice – until then, the open call for musicians to apply for a slot is ongoing.
Concerts start in the afternoon, program runs until after midnight. Detailed lineup available after the application phase.
Nauen is located directly on the Berlin outer ring; regional train RE4 connects the city to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (approx. 30 min.) and Wittenberge every half hour. From Nauen station, you can reach Martin-Luther-Platz in a 10-minute walk.
Admission to all concerts is free.
Musicians who wish to perform can contact TOBO Veranstaltungsservice or the city of Nauen directly via the contact form on nauen.de.
