Wine festival with electro beats and live acts in Rastatt Castle Garden — Finale with Silent Disco
Anyone who thinks wine festivals must be traditional will be proven wrong at Melodic Wine Rastatt. On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the castle garden of the baroque Rastatt Residential Palace invites you to a concept that combines modern electro sound with centuries-old Baden wine tradition. From 4 PM to midnight, experience a wine festival of a special kind: curated DJ sets, live acts with synthesizers and beats, plus tastings of exquisite wines from the Ortenau, Kraichgau, and Markgräflerland regions.
The Rastatt Residential Palace was built in the early 18th century as the residence of the Margraves of Baden-Baden — an imposing baroque palace with extensive French-style gardens. The Schlossgarten (castle garden) with its old linden trees, hedges, and paths forms the perfect open-air backdrop for a festival that combines tradition and modernity. You'll sit or dance among baroque sculptures, fountains, and stone benches — the atmosphere is unique and rarely found in German wine festivals in this form.
The musical program focuses on melodic electronics, Deep House, Melodic Techno, and live synthesizer sets. The organizers invite DJs and live acts who regularly play in the clubs of Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, and Mannheim. Unlike pure club events, the tempo is deliberately moderate — wine enjoyment should remain possible. You won't dance continuously but will switch between tasting, conversation, dancing, and enjoyment. The audience, aged 25 to 45, is diverse — wine lovers and electro fans meet here.
Regional wineries present their wines at several tasting stalls around the main stage. Here you'll find a selection that you would otherwise only get to know through many individual winery visits — Riesling, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Gutedel (Chasselas), and fine cuvées from Ortenau, Kraichgau, and Markgräflerland. Tasting is done by the glass — the organizers rely on a sustainable glass system instead of disposable cups.
From 10 PM, the festival transforms into a Silent Disco: you'll receive headphones with two or three channels — different DJs play in parallel, and you choose the music that suits your mood. This solution allows the festival to run until midnight without disturbing the direct neighborhood of the palace. You'll experience a surreal atmosphere: hundreds of people dancing under the starry sky in the castle garden — without the surroundings hearing any music.
The historic residential city of Rastatt, with around 51,000 inhabitants, is located at the transition from the southern Schwarzwald (Black Forest) to the Rhine plain, nestled between Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden. The Residential Palace is the landmark; alongside it, the historic old town, the legacy of the Bundeswehr garrison, and the proximity to Alsace shape the cityscape. For wine lovers, Rastatt is the ideal starting point — the Ortenau and Markgräflerland regions are just minutes away.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept: Melodic electronics, live acts, and selected Baden wines in one of the most beautiful baroque garden complexes in Southern Germany. The organizers focus on a sustainable glass system instead of disposable cups, curated music selection instead of mainstream, and small tasting stalls for winemakers to foster personal contact.
To conclude the festival from 10 PM, the castle garden transforms into a Silent Disco — quiet headphones, two DJ channels, dancing under the starry sky.
