Four Editions, One Idea
The Festival of Cultures Neuss is the city's meeting festival for diversity, integration, and cultural exchange. Started 17 years ago as the Spring Festival of Cultures, in 2026 it will be its fourth edition in its current summer format – this time on the festival meadow of the Neuss State Garden Show. The organizer is the Working Group for Integration and Migration – an alliance of welfare organizations, migration counseling services, youth migration services, and the city's integration office.
Date: Saturday, July 11, 2026, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The 2026 edition will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the festival meadow in RennbahnPark – right in the middle of the LAGA grounds. The festival is part of the LAGA program; admission to the festival is included in the State Garden Show day ticket.
Stage Program: Music, Dance, Spoken Word
On the central stage, there will be a varied stage and show program with music and artistic contributions of all kinds. Groups from Neuss's various communities will present their cultural traditions: oriental music, African percussion, South American dances, classical and modern music, spoken word, and readings. Children's and youth groups are also regularly featured – a festival for all generations.
Market of Opportunities
The heart of the festival, away from the stage, is the 'Market of Opportunities': Stands from local associations, initiatives, counseling services, migration counseling services, and welfare organizations will introduce themselves. A place to talk with volunteers, learn about counseling services, get information about educational and language courses, or get involved yourself. Low-threshold, inviting, in dialogue.
Culinary Diversity
The festival also thrives on culinary encounters. International specialties from the communities will be offered at food stalls – Syrian falafel, Turkish mezze, Ethiopian injera, Vietnamese pho, South American empanadas. A culinary journey around the world.
Integration as a Municipal Task
Neuss is a city with a strong migrant influence: around 40% of its residents have a migration background, and over 150 nationalities live together in the city. The Festival of Cultures is the annual public manifestation of this diversity – a deliberately placed highlight in the city's event calendar, designed to promote encounter and exchange.
Embedded in the LAGA
The connection with the State Garden Show 2026 will bring significantly more visibility to the festival in 2026. The spacious festival meadow can accommodate more visitors than previous locations. The LAGA itself – as a place for encounter and urban life – programmatically aligns with the festival's objectives.
