Street food to launch the LAGA season

Beats & Bites is the opening party of the Landesgartenschau Neuss 2026. With this street food festival, the city and the LAGA company kick off the 179-day season on Thursday 16 April 2026 from 17:00. The venue is the newly designed Kulturanger – a central square between the Globe Theater, the Alte Wetthalle, the Tribünengebäude and the Totalisator on the LAGA site in the RennbahnPark.

Over 20 food trucks

On the Kulturanger, more than 20 food trucks and drinks stalls gather. The culinary offer ranges from well-crafted regional cuisine to international and unconventional specialities — burgers and bowls, Asian street food classics, Mediterranean sandwiches, vegan options, sweets. Plus champagne, wine, cocktails, draught beer and non-alcoholic drinks.

Music from the roof of the Totalisator

The musical programme is shaped by two very different acts. DJ sets from the roof of the Totalisator — an exceptional stage high above the square — deliver laid-back beats. Alongside, the Bundesfanfarenkorps Neuss-Furth plays live: a blend of modern club atmosphere and traditional Neuss fanfare music — very Neuss, very Niederrhein.

Children's programme and play area

For young visitors there is a children's programme by Aktion Luftballon with games and a bouncy castle. A pétanque/boules court invites everyone to join in. Altogether a setting that appeals to families and adult couples alike.

Guided LAGA tours

Anyone with an evening LAGA ticket (5 €) can join free guided tours across the LAGA grounds from 18:00. An ideal opportunity to discover the freshly opened park before the full season kicks off. Information stands about the Landesgartenschau are staffed during the event.

Kulturanger – a new square for Neuss

The Kulturanger is one of the most important urban upgrades in the RennbahnPark. The square was redesigned as part of the LAGA preparations and is set to remain a city asset after the season ends. With Beats & Bites, the square is publicly "inaugurated" for the first time.

Neuss as a street food city

Neuss has built up a lively street food scene in recent years — with the regular Feierabendmarkt at the Freithof, food truck meetups and culinary city festivals. Beats & Bites is the LAGA version: one day, focused on the season opener, with stage acts and play areas.
