Four Weeks of Summer Festival at Two Venues

Ferienzauber Rottweil is the major summer festival of this Swabian district capital — one of the most prominent open-air festivals in Southern Germany and, at the same time, an unusual staging of urban identity. The festival utilizes the city's two most spectacular venues: the Kraftwerk Rottweil (a former industrial building, now a concert and cultural arena) and the Wasserturm — the TK Elevator Test Tower, a landmark of Southern Germany at 246 meters high. In 2026, the festival runs from July 22 to August 16.

Program at Kraftwerk Rottweil (July 22–29)

The first festival week takes place at Kraftwerk Rottweil. Performing on stage in 2026:

• Friday, July 24 — Clueso (German pop songwriter)
• Saturday, July 25 — Capital Bra with support King Khalil and DJ Vlader (Rap)
• Sunday/Monday, July 26–27 — Acabellas — sold out
• Tuesday, July 28 — Ronan Keating (Irish pop star, ex-Boyzone)
• Wednesday, July 29 — Heinrich Del Core (Comedy)

A mix of German pop, rap, international mainstream pop music (Ronan Keating), and comedy — a demonstratively broad spectrum that positions Ferienzauber as a city festival for everyone.

Program at Wasserturm (July 30 – August 16)

The second festival phase shifts to the Wasserturm. “The program at the Wasserturm will be announced at a later date” — this is the current status. The tower offers an unusual venue: an open-air festival area with unique acoustics and visual impact is created around the base of the tallest structure in the Rottweil district.

Kraftwerk and Wasserturm — Two Industrial Monuments as Stages

The Kraftwerk Rottweil is a former hydroelectric power plant, now a concert and event venue, located in the center of Rottweil. The Wasserturm (officially TK Elevator Test Tower) is the tallest structure in the district at 246 meters high. It was opened in 2017 as an elevator test tower for thyssenkrupp Elevator AG (now TK Elevator) and also serves as a public viewing platform (with its 232 m high viewing point, the highest in Germany).

These two contrasting industrial architectures form the unusual spatial framework of the festival.

Rottweil — Oldest City in Baden-Württemberg

Rottweil is the oldest city in Baden-Württemberg (founded in 73 AD as Roman Arae Flaviae). With around 25,000 inhabitants, the district capital is a significant medium-sized city in southwestern Germany, characterized by its medieval old town, the unique Schwäbisch-alemannische Fasnet (Swabian-Alemannic Carnival) with its wooden mask-wearing figures, and more recently by the spectacular mix of old and new architecture (Wasserturm). The festival complements this cultural multi-layeredness with a modern concert dimension.

The city of Rottweil is the organizer in cooperation with a consortium of promoters. Main sponsors are Hirsch (Insurance) and the Sparkasse — two classic South German sponsors that support regionally rooted festivals.
