10 days of funfair at the festival grounds in front of the stadium — rides, game stalls, and family entertainment
The Rottweiler Volksfest is Rottweil's classic summer funfair — a ten-day event held annually in mid-June on the festival grounds in front of the Rottweil Stadium. The Ruoff Family has been organizing it for years, providing the area with rides, game stalls, and food stands as a regional showman business. The 2026 edition runs from Friday, June 13 to Monday, June 22, 2026. With ten days of festivities, it is one of the longest folk festivals in Baden-Württemberg.
The program offers the classic funfair lineup: carousels (for all ages), bumper cars, Fighter (a high-adrenaline spinning ride), Break Dance (a classic carousel format), Ferris wheel (with views of Rottweil's old town), haunted house, log flume. In addition, numerous game stalls: shooting galleries, ring toss, dart throwing, children's skill games. A classic festival ground offering that appeals to all ages — from toddlers to teenagers to adults cherishing nostalgic memories.
The festival catering offers the canonical funfair specialties: currywurst, fries, bratwurst, lángos, cotton candy, roasted almonds, crêpes, pumpkin seeds. Beer from the regional brewery, soft drinks, lemonades. Most food is served in reusable cups and plates — the Ruoff Family has been a pioneer in sustainable packaging solutions for years.
Rottweil (approx. 25,500 inhabitants, seat of the Rottweil district, AGS 08325) is Baden-Württemberg's oldest city — founded by the Romans and elevated to an imperial city in 1234. The intact old town with its city gates, half-timbered houses, and the Collegiate Church is one of the most beautiful in Southern Germany. Rottweil is modernly known for the thyssenkrupp Test Tower (245 m, the world's tallest elevator test tower). The Volksfest is a traditional summer event that complements the city's life with an entertainment component.
The 2026 edition continues the established format of ten days of festivities. As every year, the Ruoff Family sets up their showman park at the festival grounds in front of the Rottweil Stadium — the mix of adrenaline rides (Fighter, Break Dance), family carousels, and classic festival catering has been working reliably for years.
