10th edition of the open-air music festival with light installations on the Fischbacherberg
For ten years, the Feldfunk Festival has been arguably the most distinctive open-air festival in Siegerland: a passion project that combines music, light installations, art projects, and a historic ammunition bunker into a magical summer evening. The 10th edition will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the "Schön und Gut" experience field of the Hoppmann Foundation on Siegen's Fischbacherberg. Doors open at 7:00 PM, concert starts at 7:30 PM.
The "Schön und Gut" experience field is an extraordinary outdoor area of the non-profit Hoppmann Foundation: a former industrial wasteland transformed into an accessible space of sculptures, light installations, sound sculptures, and perception experiments. At its center stands a historic ammunition bunker from World War II — now a sound body for acoustic experiments. This backdrop makes the Feldfunk Festival a unique sensory experience.
The festival curates four acts that combine musical diversity with emotional depth:
Alongside the music, light installations and art projects offer visual sensory experiences. Changing light projections on the ammunition bunker, illuminated sculptures in the outdoor area, and interactive installations transform the festival grounds into an accessible art space that visually frames the music.
The festival emphasizes fair, sustainable, and high-quality catering. Bioland-certified snacks, regional sausages, vegan options, and fair-trade drinks complement the musical and visual experience. The catering is an integral part of the festival's identity — not classic festival food, but a conscious culinary selection.
The festival does not charge an admission fee — entry is free, donations are explicitly requested. This model allows for low-threshold access to art and is financed through donations, sponsorships, and cooperation partners.
Siegen is an independent city with around 102,000 inhabitants in southeastern North Rhine-Westphalia, the capital of the Siegerland region, and home to the University of Siegen. The city lies at the transition from the Sauerland to the Westerwald — a hilly, green low mountain range region that atmospherically shapes the festival's surroundings. Fischbacherberg, in the south of the city, offers a breathtaking festival backdrop with its elevated position and the "Schön und Gut" experience field.
Magical summer evening in Siegerland: Four acts against the unique backdrop of the historic ammunition bunker, embedded in light installations and art projects. Anniversary edition for the 10th year.
