20th Anniversary Edition at the Sillerhalle — Homecoming of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music
The concert format 'Faszination Blasmusik' was launched in the year 2000 in the Sillerhalle Hattenhofen by organizer Martin Huttenlocher. What began as a local concert has developed over more than two decades into an established series for Bohemian-Moravian brass music — with offshoots like 'Glanzlichter der Blasmusik', 'Die Großen der Blasmusik', and 'Polka-Könige'. A total of 19 concerts have been produced so far. The 20th anniversary concert symbolically leads the series back to where it all began.
The Sillerhalle in Hattenhofen is the municipality's multi-purpose hall — a venue that has accompanied the concert format for two decades. Acoustically suitable for brass music, with space for several hundred visitors and enough stage area for the larger ensembles that characterize the series. The organizer is Martin Huttenlocher, and the organizational partner is the Musikverein Hattenhofen, which forms the local anchor of the concert.
'Faszination Blasmusik' stands for a specific style — Bohemian-Moravian brass music with its polkas, waltzes, and marches. A tradition that is particularly cultivated in Southern Germany and the Alpine region, fluctuating between folk music and concert brass music. The top ensembles of this style come from the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany — over the years, the series has managed to bring the most important names to Hattenhofen and other venues.
