Fan Festival — when the Conference League comes to Leipzig

The UEFA Conference League Final 2026 will take place on May 27th, 2026, at 9 PM in the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig — and with it, the official Fan Festival, which the City of Leipzig, in close coordination with UEFA, will host for three days on the Market Square in the city center. It is the largest international football event in Leipzig since the 2006 FIFA World Cup and makes the city a hub for the European football family for a week.

The Fan Festival is explicitly for everyone: fans of the finalist teams (Crystal Palace vs. Rayo Vallecano), Leipzig football enthusiasts, families from the region — admission to the Market Square and all areas is free. Evening concerts, daytime family programs, interactive sports activities, and the UEFA Trophy to touch give the festival its structure.

Program in Four Layers

Three days, three thematic focuses: Monday, May 25th, is officially "Family Day" with children's concerts (herrH, Heavysaurus). Tuesday, May 26th, is designated "Music Night" with indie acts Cari Cari and Alice Merton. Wednesday, May 27th, is Final Day — in the evening, before the kick-off at 9 PM in the Red Bull Arena, the Hermes House Band will perform before the festival transitions into a major public viewing event.

Soccer Pitch and Legends Match

At the center of the Market Square is a 30 by 20 meter "Soccer Pitch" — a mini-football arena where tournaments, free play, and interactive formats will be organized. Additionally, there will be a Legends Match with former professionals, the UEFA "Get Trained Save Lives" CPR training, live DJs, and official UEFA merchandise. Anyone who wants to play football, celebrate along, or simply see the trophy in person should come by.

Leipzig, Sports, and the Conference League

Leipzig is an established sports city: RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, the Red Bull Arena (formerly Zentralstadion) with its GDR and World Cup history, volleyball, basketball, and handball at a high level. With the 2026 Conference League Final, UEFA is sending a signal that East German locations are also firmly part of the European football family. The Fan Festival harnesses the energy of the occasion to make the Market Square a European stage for a week.
