Ostheim vor der Rhön
Ostheim vor der Rhön in the Rhön-Grabfeld district is primarily known for its castle church – the largest and best-preserved fortified church complex in Germany. The small Lower Franconian town is scenically located on the edge of the Rhön and is also famous for its historical organ building.
A Legendary Town Festival
The Ostheim Town Festival is considered "legendary" in the region – a traditional civic festival that transforms the old town around the market square into a festival mile. Clubs, gastronomy, and the town organize the festival together.
Parade and Beer Tapping
Festival Saturday begins with the traditional parade at 4:00 PM, followed by the beer tapping ceremony at 4:30 PM, musically accompanied by the Ostheim Town Band. Afterwards, there will be celebrating, dancing, and singing along at the party night.
Market Day on Sunday
Sunday features the popular market day with regional offerings, music, and many opportunities for strolling and meeting people – a relaxed end to the festival weekend.

Getting There
Ostheim vor der Rhön is located in the Rhön-Grabfeld district in northern Lower Franconia, accessible via the B279 from Bad Neustadt an der Saale and Mellrichstadt. The market square is in the town center.

Tip
A visit to the town festival can be well combined with a tour of the famous Ostheim castle church. The most atmospheric moment is the parade on Saturday at 4 PM.
