Solidarity festival on the Hawerkamp grounds in Münster with clubs, live music, and art
For decades, the Hawerkamp grounds in northern Münster have been home to over 50 artists, craftspeople, associations, and clubs. Its existence has been repeatedly threatened – each time, Münster's subculture has successfully defended its space. The "Erhaltet den Hawerkamp" festival is more than a party: it's a commitment to cultural diversity and the preservation of this urban microcosm.
Anyone who has paid admission once has access to the entire grounds and all six clubs: Sputnikhalle (Rock, Alternative, Live Bands), Favela (Electronic, House, Techno), Fade Club (90s & Indie), KCM (Schlager, Disco, Pop), Sputnik Café (Dark Wave, Electro), Fabians Butze (electronic ballroom). In between, there are outdoor areas, food trucks, and art.
In the venerable Sputnikhalle, one of Münster's best-known concert venues, Uwe against the machine performs – a rock/funk cover band with cult status in the region. Their set will get the festival into the right mood at night before the clubs take over.
Outdoor areas feature art installations and performance art. Dance groups perform between the halls, and food trucks offer dishes from around the world – from vegan burgers to Mexican tacos and Syrian falafel. Individual Hawerkamp artists' own exhibitions round off the festival.
Only cash is accepted at the door – the organizers explicitly point this out. Tickets are cheaper in advance via localticketing.de and at the ASTA office of the University of Münster.
The Hawerkamp grounds are located on the northeastern outskirts of Münster, nestled between the railway line and an industrial area. It has been home to the alternative scene since the 1990s. Today, it houses workshops, studios, rehearsal rooms, clubs, and the famous Sputnik Café. Anyone who wants to experience Münster beyond the postcard idyll cannot miss Hawerkamp.
The 2026 edition once again calls for the preservation of Hawerkamp and brings together Münster's entire alternative scene. With one ticket, you get access to all clubs, outdoor areas, and performance stages. The outdoor area features art installations, food trucks with international cuisine, dance performances, and exhibitions.
