Schützenfest in Saterland
Sedelsberg is one of the districts of the municipality of Saterland in the far northwest of the Cloppenburg district. The Schützenfest Sedelsberg is organized by the Sedelsberg marksmen's club (Schützenverein) and is one of the annual highlights of the club's year and village life. Each district of the municipality of Saterland — Ramsloh, Strücklingen, Scharrel, Sedelsberg, and Bollingen — maintains its own Schützenfest with its own club and traditions.
Classic Schedule of a Schützenfest
The three-day festival follows the classic schedule of North German Schützenfeste: King's Shoot before the festival, King's Parade on the Saturday of the festival, festive procession through the center of Sedelsberg, church service, King's Dinner, proclamation and crowning of the new royal court, and dance evenings in the festival tent with a live band.
