Electronic Music in a Baroque Castle Garden
Electrique Baroque is a relatively young but rapidly growing festival for electronic music in the northern region of Baden-Württemberg. The name plays on the contrast: vibrant electronic beats within the baroque architecture of the Eremitage Waghäusel, shaped by Balthasar Neumann. The festival is a one-day event — a concentrated open-air experience from midday until late at night — attracting visitors from the entire Rhine-Neckar region, the Palatinate, Alsace, and Switzerland.
Confirmed Acts 2026
The 2026 lineup features internationally established DJs from the electronic scene:
- Deborah De Luca — Italian Techno DJ, one of the most prominent female voices in the international techno scene, known for her powerful sets from Tomorrowland to Awakenings
- Avaion — German producer and DJ, known for danceable melodic tracks like "Pieces" and "Eyes Closed"
- Reinier Zonneveld — Dutch live act, pioneer of live acid techno, with his own label Filth on Acid
- Moonbootica — Hamburg-based Electro/House DJ duo (Tobitob & DJ Schäfer), a fixture in the German electronic scene since the mid-2000s
A total of 14 live acts are confirmed for two stages — more acts will be announced in the weeks before the festival on electrique-baroque.de and on social media.
The Eremitage Waghäusel — Festival Venue with History
The Eremitage Waghäusel is a baroque ensemble in northern Baden-Württemberg, originally built as a hunting and pleasure palace for the Prince-Bishops of Speyer starting in 1724. The main structure is the palace, completed by Balthasar Neumann from 1748, featuring the striking central pavilion and the octagonal pilgrimage church. The extensive park provides the ideal open-air setting for the festival — historic architecture, old trees, large open spaces.
Waghäusel — Karlsruhe or Mannheim?
Waghäusel, with around 21,000 inhabitants, is a small town in the Karlsruhe district, located halfway between Karlsruhe (~25 km) and Mannheim/Heidelberg (~25 km). The Karlsruhe–Mannheim railway line stops directly in Waghäusel — from Waghäusel station, it's only about a five-minute walk to the festival grounds. Direct train access is one of the festival's strong points: no festival shuttle, no P&R stress — you get off the train, walk across the station forecourt, and you're at the venue. The journey from Karlsruhe takes about 25 minutes, from Mannheim about 20 minutes.
