Eremitage Waghäusel as Festival Stage

The Eremitage Waghäusel is a baroque hunting lodge with extensive grounds, built in the 18th century for the Prince-Bishop of Speyer. Today, the complex serves as a venue — the park offers ample space for festivals with several thousand visitors, with the historic palace facade as a backdrop. Waghäusel itself is located in the district of Karlsruhe (AGS 08215), between Karlsruhe and Mannheim — part of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.

Festival Format and Atmosphere

Superjam is a one-day open-air festival with a clear focus on Hip-Hop and Reggae — not a multi-genre setup, but a concentrated staging of the German scene with international elements. Several stages will likely be set up (Mainstage + DJ Floor), plus soundsystem areas. Admission from 2:30 PM — the bands will play throughout the afternoon and evening until approx. midnight. The organizer is EB Festival GmbH (Erich Buchmann Festival), which has been producing festivals in the Rhine-Neckar region for years.

Getting to the Eremitage

Waghäusel-Eremitage is accessible by S-Bahn line S9 (Karlsruhe–Bruchsal–Mannheim). From Wiesental station, it's about a 1.5 km walk to the Eremitage. By car via the A 5 (Karlsruhe–Bruchsal–Heidelberg), exit Waghäusel. Parking available on the festival grounds.

Hip-Hop Festival Context in Southern Germany

Superjam fills a niche in Southern Germany: between Splash! (Saxony-Anhalt) and Open Beatz (Bavaria), there was for a long time no comparable Hip-Hop festival in the Karlsruhe/Mannheim region. With Superjam, EB Festival GmbH is establishing a format that is taken as seriously by artists from Cologne/Hamburg (Sido, Ferris MC) as by the Stuttgart connection (Afrob, Gentleman).
